riczhang
And yet, The King's Speech got best original screenplay. And, that film was based on lots of pre-existing material. The Academy has such fucked up rules at times. That play was never published though. Seidler originally wrote it as a play, so he just rewrote it as a screenplay.
Kvikk Lunsj
Toy Story 3 is adapted because it's a sequel. LEGO isn't. But according to the academy it is based off an existing material Legos. Plus there been direct to DVDS and video games of the Lego Universe.

CoolioD1
I love the shout-out for Edge of Tomorrow in editing. you know the academy are gonna ignore it for some best picture nominees that really don't have anything special going on.

Jake Gittes
I'm really starting to think Gone Girl can win Best Adapted if even the critics can't come up with any better competitors for it than Wild and the British Biopics #1 and #2. (Obviously PTA is out from the start).
CoolioD1
I could see the Oscars playing out like those nominations and Ruffalo is the only nominaton for Foxcatcher, just because that category is weak and the other majors it's competing in are crowded.
