I prefer the TV Show to the books (I've just started delving into them though) but I do love how much more detail is in the books (which is understandable).

But I prefer watching to reading.

The first episode to the second half of Season 5 is dedicated to Kevin Cordasco, a teen Superfan of the show who died of cancer in March of 2013. Before his death Kevin was able to meet Bryan Cranston, Vince Gilligan and other prominent members of the Breaking Bad family, and he was even offered the chance to read the final scripts of the series so he would know how the show ends. Kevin declined, as he didn't think he could keep the secret.

Actually, I read the books first and after a considerable 2 seasons delay I finally started watching the show. And with the books fresh in my mind I was so disappointed by how many things weren't there, I abandoned it for about half a year. Then, after everyone I knew told me how great it is I started watching it again and I've come to appreciate it. It's not even by far my favourite show, but I really like it.

I haven't seen it, so I don't have an opinion but I don't know anyone who actually likes the TV show ( I know people who like the books though. My friend says people watch it because it has boobs and dragons and that that's all its good for.

You're what 14? Of course barely anybody your age watches it (or admits they do), and those that do haven't cognitively developed enough to actually understand what makes it so great (because at that age all any guy cares about in film are boobs and explosions, which fits your friends description). Don't trust your tween peers opinions on anything, all 12-18ish year olds are idiots. (No offense you'll grow out of it one day like everybody else who was a 12-18 year old)

I feel like the series captures the heart of the books (from what I've read so far) and keeps up the pace. Just like LOTR or Harry Potter you can't expect it to follow the books exactly because what works when you read doesn't necessarily work on screen.
