The film opened in 2nd place in Japan with $4.7 million and in 1st place in Mexico with $1.8 million. Ted 2 has grossed $190.2 million worldwide in an underwhelming effort compared to its predecessor’s $550 million total. The Universal sequel earned $4.7 million (-50%) from 45 territories this frame, lifting the overseas total to $120 million and the worldwide gross to $201.3 million.
