pepsa
I really want MJ1 to win the year, but if it is to lose to American Sniper, I want it to be a blowout. I want AS to top $500m or something crazy like that. If MJ1 loses, at least make it interesting. MJ1 will lose the year, I mean why would a oscar nomimated pick have weaker legs then GOTG, it's a SH movie, they don't got great legs. (GOTG were pretty awesome but AS will do atleast 365M)
pepsa
american sniper being #1 is something fans are gonna whine about how it "shouldn't count" for years. I love it. For me it doesn't matter as long as the gross is counted to January 2015 so we can have our record year.

straggler
AS won't get above $300 million. I don't see this being the Passion of Christ.

Ozymandias
AS won't get above $300 million. I don't see this being the Passion of Christ. Its 15m ahead of Skyfall right now at the same point, 300m seems very likely. Edited January 22, 2015 by Ozymandias
straggler
Its 15m ahead of Skyfall right now at the same point, 300m seems very likely. The only complication is that maybe this is sort of cultural middle finger to the purveyors on "respectable" opinion, at which point seeing the movie becomes a statement. Just cannot imagine that it will sustain anything with the intensity of Passion.

straggler
If it drops 60% this weekend then maybe it misses 300. Probably around $300. Then again if enough people attack the movie people may see it out of spite.
