AniNate
I still have a few movies left I need to see, but as for right now this is my top ten: 1 50/50 - I loved this film when I first saw it, but since my dad recently passed it holds so much more relevance to me now. I don't know if there'll ever be another film that deals with serious illness with such a skillful mix of humor and pathos. A fantastic film. 2 The Muppets - The most purely joyful experience I had this year. It's hilarious, catchy, and I really wish it did better at the box office. 3 Drive - Perhaps it's more a mood piece than anything else, but it's still an original and unforgettable take on an old premise. 4 Mission: Impossible - Ghost Protocol - A really entertaining film. Brad Bird brings all of his knack for action and humor into the live action world. That Dubai sequence is worth the price of admission alone, but what makes the film so consistently fun is the lively banter among the cast. 5 Rango - Great animation, vibrant voice acting and just all-around entertaining 6 Source Code - A solid sci-fi premise elevated by humanistic undertones, leaving the audience with a lot to ponder 7 Captain America: The First Avenger - Pulpy, cheesy fun. I had a grin on my face the entire time. 8 Fast Five - Ridiculous action sequences and palpable chemistry among the ensemble made this a blast 9 Thor - Terrific visuals and Chris Hemsworth's performance elevate this superhero movie 10 X-Men: First Class - Entertaining superhero film with decent acting, despite ropey effects and inconsistent pacing Edited January 5, 2012 by tribefan695
