Weekend Thread | Weekend Estimates: PP2 - $70.3M, MM:FR - $45.5M, TA2 - $38.84M

Probably my worst mistake in the BSG was under balling PP2. Goddamn, that's massive. Though with such a big Friday it'll finish around $60-65 million for the weekend. I'm expecting a FIOS run for it to around $160-175 million for it.

MM:FR lined up pretty much just as I expected, thinking $43-45 million for the weekend. Great result, I'm thinking with Memorial Day next weekend and good buzz it'll hold to around $125-145 million as its final total. A win for WB considering what a risky movie it was.

My cousin that went with me said Mad Max was way better than Ultron.

There's no way to compare really. Different type of action.

Everyone likes Marvel movies. And Mad Max may have been too intense for some moviegoers.

Mad Max should follow a Kingsman type run, just slightly weaker legs due to harsher competition with San Andreas and Jurassic World looking ahead.

It could make up for the competition by having better weekdays.

Goddamn PP2 is huge.

Avengers 2 - $455 million

PP2 - $230 million

Tomorrowland - $175 million

Mad Max - $135 million

San Andreas - $90 million

Poltergeist - $80 million

Aloha - $60 million

Not too bad. Although July is what will put 2015 over the top. June has a solid hit each week, too. August should have a few mid sized hits even if nothing reaches $150 million DOM

A bright summer ahead :)
