Man, those weekday numbers for the Top Two are great. This is really an excellent time to be a movie/box office fan.

Hey guys, just got back from the MAYOR's selection at the theater in town.

It was Raiders of the Lost Ark

 

first time I have seen it since opening weekend in 1981 w/ my pops.....

 

Ofcourse, it was sold out. The print was awesome, a few hairs and dirt but it was actual reels so that was cool.

 

 

Glad to see IO and JW with 13 million..

I think it's awesome to re-release all those classics in theatres even for just one weekend or so. I can only imagine how awesome it must have been to see Raiders in the theatre at that time. I know my theatre here in Germany is doing a Back to The Future Marathon later this year. I'll definitely be a part of that.

Have we not learned yet? Doesn't matter how good it looks. No competition for 6 weeks will let it approach if not pass 100m. Same thing happened with Epic. We were all shocked with its OW doubling what most thought it'd do as well as the total. Most had it at 15/50, but didn't take into consideration the lack of kids fare in the marketplace. People are making the same mistake again.

Epic was from Blue Sky and was definitely going to gross $100m, i thought its final total was disappointing. It was released on MD weekend intended to be a hit. You don't seem to know much about animation besides surface observations.
