Casey says Ben is not doing it, upon the host saying that’s ‘breaking news’, Casey backtracks and says he’s joking to deselect, and downplay.

 

Sounds like he broke the news without realising how guarded the news was.

Meh. I imagine he just never realised how big this thing is. It seems really understandable to me. To us fans on the net it’s BATMAN, to Casey (and most people) it’s just a popular character with a revolving door of actors.

I'd imagine Ben wants to beat the crap out of Casey right now, or at least he regrets telling this news to the guy.

Ben likely gets a percentage of how much JL makes, so he needs the movie to do great. News of him leaving will not be a good thing.

I don't know, maybe you're right. Just seems like someone who's an actor, especially one as big as Affleck would know better. Either way, I know he wasn't trying to be malicious or anything.
