It would be incredibly helpful If someone could provide numbers from Japan. The last estimate that I saw was that it will end with 65-70m. If that stands, 800m is locked. @Olive can you help?

That is pretty close to the 1.3m it made dom. So 10m more from Japan should happen shouldn't it? Considering runs are much longer there compared to dom and we are expecting 10m more dom. That would leave only 3m more from UK for 800 WW.

That's good but still, I would like to see an estimate about it's total...

From Corpse:

" Yep, that's New Year Week for you. Along with Golden Week (late April/early May) and Obon Festival (mid-August), New Year (first week of January) is one of the three strongest weeks at the box office every year.

The daily increases can easily exceed several hundred percent, even up to 500%+, during those three holiday periods"

Fantastic Beasts will make $1M+ per day.

I was once think that this going to be the lowest grossing HP films but now....it seems it would be surpassing at least HP3 in WW terms

Thanks! That's great news. 800m feels like a certainty to me now..

FB has had an incredible run. Probably the most exciting run of 2016 for all the right reasons.

Right? Who would've expected that a spin-off of one of the most notoriously frontloaded franchises to have one of the leggiest runs of the year, both DOM and OS? The WOM clearly was through the roof which is exactly what the sequels needs in order to increase.

The cast of Albus Dumbledore needs to be a big name. Dumbledore is one of the most famous characters in the late history of literature. His portrayal of a BIG name will generate immense hype. Who qould you consider a good choice guys?

They went with a big name for Grindelwald, so maybe they will do the same for Dumbledore. I just imagined DiCaprio in that role, but I doubt he would accept it.

DiCraprio? I really can't imagine him as Dumbledore...

Difference being we never saw Grindelwald before.  Some movies just seem content with casting younger versions of iconic characters that look nothing like them (looking at you Han Solo spin off), but they need to get it right for Albus.

To be honest I have nothing against a big name as Dumbledore, but it's gotta be someone who doesn't overwhelm the iconic role, you know? I wanna see Albus, not the actor. DiCaprio would just be too much.
