I think the Christmas openers are gonna be rather subdued this year, or least not come close to the huge numbers that Unbroken and Into the Woods put up last year. Buzz for Joy has become pretty subdued since the reviews came in, Concussion might be too depressing, Point Break seems like an inevitable flop, and Daddy's Home...eh, who wants to see Will Ferrell and Marky Mark duke it out in a PG-rated family comedy? Being named People's Sexiest Man Alive is more of a curse than a blessing obviously. Hemsworth’s “coronation” as People’s Sexiest Man Alive is part of an onslaught of media coverage designed to make audiences believe that the dude is a movie star. He is just the latest marginally talented himbo that Hollywood chooses as their it boy. The problem is that audiences are not yet convinced.
