Prequel negativity is an internet bubble Imo! (Ofc there may be a biiiit of truth to it)

in real life it is rare that I meet someone who hates the prequels, I have met people sure. But I have met far far far more people who like them...and okay fewer who love em. But the idea that the majority of audiences found em offensive doesn't hold true in my experience. I met a girl today at the star wars screening who's favorite is TPM and loves jar jar for example...

In hindsight, we all should have seen this weekend coming. JW was a good indicator. That was a continuation, after quite a gap, of an older franchise with a new installment. Like SW, the first JP is fondly remembered and the newer ones not so much. Nostalgia played a huge role in JW capturing the opening weekend record. TFA has several advantages, though. The built-in fan base is way larger.  Years of Clone Wars cartoons have brought in younger fans, and older fans that were kids when the original movies came out in the late 70's / early 80's pre-date JP.

We did see it coming. Average prediction for the film was enormous opening and $800m total. Only thing holding it back on the opening was Christmas shopping, traveling, and possible winter weather.

Wait.. Were these predictions before or after pre sales kicked off? I honestly don't remember these OW predictions when Jurassic World opened. Maybe I just missed them.

If TFA has this kind of run everyone should be pleased with its success. 800M will be locked then!

Yeah, but he only offers early numbers on the weekends. Same thing with the trades.

We might get an early evening update, if we're lucky.

He gave early numbers during JW first week

Updated Numbers.

Opening weekend record broken by 20% in Canada.

18.6 million vs 15.5 million For TA.

No Jw does not have the opening weekend record.

Canada is a leggy market TA legs would be 70+ million here

Say what? I'm talking where I live. I know what's been reported. Heck I've been reporting on the lines with the tweets in case you didn't notice. Wasn't expecting it where I live. There we 0 sell outs except for preview day.

Ahh, the little language details that make the differences.

I am aware about your posts, gave likes for those. ;)

But I didn't look too closely to be aware about which region(s) those told about, also you were away dor some hours (sleeping I guess), and based on that not sure about if you've seen the other user's reports. It's a lot to backread here, or?

Kim Baccellia @ixtumea 45 minutes ago

Wowza. People in line at Regal theater purchasing not one but 10-20 or more tickets to see Star Wars. This is for one showing.

Girl at ticket counter: "Yes, we're selling out of showings for today." I bought tickets for Christmas Eve early afternoon showing.
