Welcome to the site.

 

RTH is out insider.  He works for a company (no one knows what company or even what he does) that allows his access to raw numbers as they come in.  He extrapolates those numbers and then gives us a number that he is usually within 5% of, sometimes even closer.

Even Avatar dropped its first Tuesday, so this was definitely expected. The high end still puts it basically following Avatar's weekday holds, which is just ludicrous for such a massive opener.
