The Empire Strikes Back is widely considered to be not only the best Star Wars movie, but one of the best movies of all time. It still decreased massively from A New Hope.

The record for non opening Thursday gross is $29.094m unadjusted from TF2 (2nd day of release), probably way too much to ask for given Christmas Eve. 2nd place is Despicable Me 2 w/ $24.547m (also 2nd day out).
