I'm not expecting JW since Pacific Rim and Godzilla didn't make it. Those movies weren't monster hits too large to ignore like Jurassic World though, and this is one of the few categories that favors box office hits. The Walk has a big centerpiece, but the movie was seen by virtually no one.

Are you telling me I am no one Spoiler Tbh, I would like to see JW getting in somewhere and if that means The Walk has to go I approve it

That movie had multiple things against it (the shooting, the debate as to whether or not Nolan lived up to expectations). No such thing is working against Jurassic World.
grim22
I think The Walk will most likely get the VFX nod just for the recreation of the WTC towers and the final setpiece.
MovieMan89
The Walk may not have as much special effects as the others, but what is there basically blow all the others away. Should for sure be getting nominated, but again can see it snubbed for The Revenant. Unless JW doesn't make it. filmlover
I think The Walk would be secured if it hadn't put up such microscopic numbers. It's one thing to be a big financial bomb but it's another for no one to care about your movie at all.
