Best Picture predictions-2016!

I wonder when Hidden Figures will overtake La La Land.
And what will be the lowest grossing nom this year-Hell over High Water, Moonlight or Lion? I'm saying either Moonlight or Water, Lion I could see getting a boost (even though I don't think it will win anything)

i'd say moonlight. would be weird if it was hell or high water since everyone here was talking about it like it was a breakout indie smash when it was playing in the summer.

I was thinking that too-considering I actually know quite a few people who saw it. (Then again it was filmed here-I live in the place where Lone Ranger was sold out, Magnificent Seven outsold tons of other films-ironically Django is one of the few westerns that didn't play well here-I know Hell Over High Water isn't quite a western, but just brining up a point)

I can't see Moonlight making another 9 million. At least Lion I can see making more money.

Now will Arrival hit 100 million? Maybe...

(On another note-when should I do the Oscar wins game?)

my full list right now is probably

Picture: La La Land

Director: Damien Chazelle

Actor: Denzel

Actress: Stone

Supp. Actor: Ali

Supp. Actress: Davis

O. Screenplay: La La Land

A. Screenplay: Moonlight

Cinematography: La La Land

Costumes: La La Land

Production Design: La La Land

Editing: La La Land

Sound Mixing: La La Land

Sound Editing: Hacksaw Ridge

Orignal Score: La La Land

Original Song: La La Land (city of stars)

Visual Effects: Jungle Book

Make Up: Star Trek

Cartoon: Zootopia

so in terms of best picture nominees; 11 for la la land, 2 for fences and moonlight, 1 for hacksaw and none for everyone else.

well , the last time a GG winner didn't get nominated for an oscar was 41 years ago but look what happened

Golden Globes don't crossover with the Oscars though, so I still fail to see how there's actually a connection there.

SAG does though.

Jim Carrey won best actor in a drama in 1998-we all remember how he won then...wait...(they actually said Roberto was who took his spot that year which is interesting since he won the Oscar)

well , 41 years of consistency tells you something but then again these numbers are all meaningless since every year is an independent incident so using SAG or GG is not definitive since the matching percentage is not 100%

I'm leaning toward Affleck because Fences has Supporting Actress locked.

Fences is the kind of movie that could easily take home two acting wins. In fact, it's possible that La La Land, Fences, and Moonlight might be the only Best Picture nominees to win anything on Oscar night, and it actually sounds plausible (since Hell or High Water/Hidden Figures/Lion are all guaranteed to win nothing, Arrival and Hacksaw Ridge only stand chances in tech categories that could easily be lost to a La La Land domination, and Manchester by the Sea's only possible wins are in Actor and Screenplay).
