Easter has begun here. Kung Fu Panda 3 opened as big as Zootopia 3 weeks ago. And Zootopia, London Has Fallen and Allegiant had very small drops from last weekend. Daddy's Home and PPZ bombed but whatever.

Who cares to these movies, I want see BVS breaking F7's record there nic.gif

It's nice that you guys didn't hear about what's happening in Brazil.

There's a church who bought over 8 million tickets for a 2-hour movie that is a compilation of the 176 1-hour episodes of a The Ten Commandments telenovela that was produced by a TV network this same church owns. All of this just for them to claim they have the biggest local movie of all time.

They've spent over $25 million dollars worth of tickets with this, and they aren't stopping until the 'movie' hits 11 million admissions (the current record).

this is FAKE, there's no evidences about this, only rumors, stop spreading fake news

I actually think it can indeed challenge 2010 for the 200M record. Zootopia's a go already, and Finding Dory is an absolute lock too. Moana surely has to make it. The Secret Life Of Pets is more than likely gonna make it too, in spite of the rough competition - let's not pretend that promotion so far hasn't been every bit as fantastic as it was for Zootopia. And then we have a few wildcards like Angry Birds, Ice Age and Sing that could break out. It's no guarantee that it'll beat 2010, but I think it can invoke a challenge here.

Ice Age isn't going to break out. People already know what those movies are about.

It is possible it does that in America. Impossible here. If it opens to half of what F7 did here last year it will be already over the final total of tickets sold of Man of Steel here

Is there a reason Daddy's Home bombed?

It is a family comedy. It lost his target demo here because kids don't know how to read and it is not worth to dub this type of movies. Teens have better things to do, like seeing Allegiant or waiting for BvS. Adults have London Has Fallen. Families are going nuts with Kung Fu Panda 3 and Zootopia.

So 2013 is currently well in the lead for biggest animated years.

2016's top 10 is probably going to be something like this:

  1. Finding Dory
  2. Zootopia
  3. Secret Life of Pets
  4. Moana
  5. Angry Birds
  6. KFP 3
  7. Ice Age Collision Course
  8. Trolls
  9. Storks
  10. Kubo

Sing and Sausage Party could also be in the mix. It might challenge 2013 and 2014 for the number of 50m grossing films, and 2012 and 2015 for the number of 100m grossers. I don't think it'll challenge 2010 for the 200m record, though.

Sing is definitely going to be top 10 DOM... Illumination + Rogue One counterprogramming=$100 million+ DOM. Kubo will be lucky to get $50 million with Pete's Dragon the week before. All of the other Laika films minus Coraline did $50 million or so. Anything more than $60 million would surprise me.

It'll definitekly finish ahead of Kubo and Trolls... I'd even say IA5 and Angry Birds. There's also a good chance it finishes above KFP3 if audiences really dig it, since Rogue One won't consume the Christmas BO the way Episode VII did.

My guess for the top 10 would be

  1. Finding Dory - $450 million
  2. Moana - $340 million
  3. Zootopia - $315 million
  4. The Secret Lives of Pets - $265 million
  5. Sing - $205 million
  6. Storks - $150 million
  7. Kung Fu Panda 3 - $140 million
  8. Angry Birds - $115 million
  9. Ice Age 5 - $110 million
  10. Sausage Party - $85 million

I think you're way over estimating Storks and under estimating Sing and Angry Birds.
