Excellent number for The Jungle Book and strong hold for Zootopia.

BVS just keeps freefalling.  Never would have imagined it would finish below Deadpool,  Zootopia and probably The Jungle Book.

Overall though,  2016 is off to a blazing start.

I am laughing at all the people who insinuated that this movie would be rejected in India. I guess that is because of the source material. The people who thought this are so condescending it is absurd.

Great opening for Barbershop 3 as well. As I said yesterday, the year needs more mid-range performers to counterbalance the blockbuster mega titles and the underperformers/flops that have made up the majority of the rest of the schedule so far.

Bit disappointed by the Zootopia drop

How r u dissappointed?  It was the best hold in the top 15 by far. (All but 3 films dropped > 50%). In fact the 16th film expanded. I think in general holdovers dropped horribly this week. In context zootopia did great.

Green Room's start is great but Sing Street's doesn't indicate much room for expansion. Oh well.

Yeah, Sing Street won't get expanded to more than 400 theaters IMO. I can see Green Room approaching 800-900 theaters on May 13

Can't wait to see how many screens Hardcore Henry loses next week. Hopefully that allows for some of the smaller movies to retain their screens.

That's two misfires in a row for STX after a strong start with The Gift.

The Boy wasn't a misfire. It seems like every other movie is a hit (Gift, Boy) and every other movie flops (Secret in their Eyes, Hardcore). They didn't acquire it for much so they won't lose anything.
