At my local theater good luck getting a ticket tonight. But it's generally like that for all the releases because they have so few show times!! Only 8 for SS for the whole damn day! When Star Wars was playing that was the only movie they had playing. It's annoying.

The thing is there is an obvious Rush factor to the opening night. People are more inclined to buy tickets online for opening night simply because they want to be there opening night. I don't think people worry as much about getting a ticket for the second day movie comes out. Movies are still primarily in predominantly a walk up business. So having plenty of tickets left right now in the middle of the afternoon seems pretty normal to me.

Right now Apocalypse is the highest grossing 2016 movie below BvS, I think. That is just insane.
