9M!

6th weekend of some films and how much more they added to the cume,

INSIDE OUT 7.41M, 36M more

MINIONS 5.15M, 33M more

DESPICABLE ME 2 5.92M, 29.5M more

FINDING DORY 7.23M, 22.5M more (assuming 482.5M DOM)

Even in the worst case, using the post-6th weekend legs of FINDING DORY, SECRET LIVES OF PETS will add 28M more for 364M cume.

Realistically it should go north of 370M by adding 34M+ more after a 9M weekend.

Wow, honestly I had zero hope for it to pass DM2 a week ago. Zero. Was thinking mainly of IO of a target.

The fact it now has a shot at DM2 is amazing and makes its run more interesting now. Whether it crosses DM2 or not.

I wonder if Pets will be given a Labor day expansion? I don't know if Uni will do it and if so, how much can that potentially add to its cume. (Given Uni did not give Minions an expansion).

Edit:

In the best case scenario FINDING NEMO's cume of 381M (after 3D re-release) is in line too.

That would leave PETS only behind FINDING DORY, SHREK 2, TOY STORY 3 and FROZEN.

You forgot The Lion King.

Shout out to DORY's invisible but very real legs:

At 482 DOM, it's multiplier will be 3.57x.

PETS will need to do 372.4 to get that same multiplier.

PETS might get there but in the end they will have very similar multipliers, but DORY had an amazing run early on while PETS legs are well spread out.

So PETS is getting the acclaim about being leggy while I fell that DORY seems to be wrongly going into our memory as 'great OW, ok legs' while it's multiplier will be very close to PETS (possibly even higher).

Yes, I forgot that it had a big re-release and thought PETS was over it.

After 3D run Lion King is at 422 (1st run 312) behind DORY and SHREK 2.

It doesn't need an expansion, it's in nearly 3k theaters right now.

I feel like SS won't be able to manage a drop better than 55%-ish next weekend, but we'll see.

I really don't see how that could be.

Even if it ends up with a 55% drop that will still be 19mil Which is still 2 mil better than gotg.

For some reason everybody is yelling doom and gloom while the flim is out grossing gotg day by day adding to its $40+mil lead I believe right now it's 47mil  (didn't do the math yet) if the flim stays above gotg weekdays all this week and gross more in its 3rd weekend I'm pretty sure 300 domestic is a sure thing.

I'm not saying the flim is gonna gross more than gotg but as of right now it has a 47mil lead to compensate for its drops.

If it stays 1mil above all this week SS will be going into its 4th week with a 53mil lead.

Remember the goal is for the flim to make 300 domestic.

You're not crying woe is me for Dory, are you? Lol. It's a love fest here for Dory.

Holy crap. No one predicted a $9m weekend for The Secret Life of Pets for the past weekend. The last time I remember something like that happening was with Zootopia or The Jungle Book.

Oh, Star Trek Beyond. Only at $139 million total. :(

What with your superhero civil wars, your pixar vs. illumination fan fights, your JESUS CHRIST IT'S JASON BOURNE memes.....couldn't STB just been a big hit like ST09 and STID? :(

I found out fairly recently too. It'll be on the big screen. Articles said Sir Ken will be directing and taking on the role of Poirot, the movie slated to release on November '17.

It's still in the casting and pre-production stage I think, not filming yet.

Oh cool. Thanks for the heads up. Now I have a production to follow that's in my lane, lol.

Instead of comic loonies going back and forth it will be he AC purists on story and such.  Fun times!
