I'm so glad Hacksaw Ridge is in the competition at all. As a Christian, I was wondering when a film that had a firm ground in faith would ever be a serious Oscar contender again. Now it's happened. And that's inspiring.

 

I still need to see the film, though.

Too bad it didn't happen to another 2016 film that had a firm ground in faith and starred Andrew Garfield that actually asked the audience to do some mental work.
