Beauty and the Beast has a budget of $160m.

:WHATanabe: I thought it would be more in line with Cinderella's budget than Maleficent's.

Given the title and the purported trifecta of enemies I think they're making it an all out monster mash, i.e. more of a crowd pleaser. I loved Godzilla and thought many of the complaints were overblown, part of the internet-born backlash against it, but it still wasn't how *I* personally would make a Godzilla film. With that character in particular I want complete battles and destruction porn that would make Emmerich blush. As someone who loves both Godzilla and Hawaii I really wanted to see him literally pick up the famous Rainbow Tower at the Hilton Hawaiian Village in Honolulu and throw it at the MUTO, as opposed to just seeing it crumbled post-battle like we did lol.

I think a lot of that happened from a mix of budget and Warner Bros meddling with Gareth Edwards on Godzilla. Apparently the failure of Pacific Rim made them want him to focus more on the destruction and human characters ((While they made him remove some of the best scenes....)) rather then the monster fights.

I guess Logan will probably finish its worldwide run with X-Men Apocalypse's numbers ( between 530-550 million worlwide ).

No idea about how much it'll make in Japan, on June. lol

Great numbers for a brutal R rated movie, though. No 3D and a reasonable budget. Movie is a hit. It might be making 500 million worldwide for the next weekend, once Beauty and the Beast gets released.
