filmlover
I hope Michelle Pfeiffer's role in mother! (I don't think I'll ever get used to typing the title like that) is a good one. I've missed seeing her more frequently in movies.
SLAM!
Mary J. Blige, Mudbound Melissa Leo, Notiviate Lesley Manville, Untitled PTA Fashion Film Holly Hunter, The Big Sick Carrie Fisher, Star Wars: The Last Jedi (Serious prediction)
filmlover
After seeing The Big Sick, I think Hunter is in for her fifth nomination. She has a lot of really great moments in it (the one in the comedy club should be her clip, though it would require some bleeps) and seems like the most likely shot at an acting nom from the movie (which I think is gonna get quite a bit of love from the Academy given that it's also catching on at the box office). filmlover
Rosamund Pike's role in Hostiles sounds really baity. If the film gets picked up by a good distributor and is released this year I think she's coming for a second nomination.
Kalo
I thought Sophia Lillis in IT was incredible, one of the highlights of the movie any Oscar chances?

Sophia Lillis is great in IT but she has absolutely no chance at getting an Oscar nomination. Edited September 26, 2017 by filmlover
Bishop54
Tatiana Maslany - Stronger What a moving natural performance. She'll be taking home the big prize some day. If any of you have seen her perform you know what I'm talking about.

She'll be taking home the big prize some day. If any of you have seen her perform you know what I'm talking about. Depends on a number of factors like if Stronger can stay at all in the conversation until the end of the year (especially with such low box office numbers). I don't think she's happening if Gyllenhaal isn't. I'm currently predicting Hunter/Janney/Metcalf/Spencer and then the last spot is completely up for grabs. Melissa Leo/Novitiate feels like it's going to go nowhere, and Hong Chau's role in Downsizing has already received some criticism (and will likely only get worse when more people have the chance to see it). Maybe The Florida Project's young Brooklynn Prince has a chance.
Bishop54
This list has Tatiana as a frontrunner. http://www.indiewire.com/2017/03/oscars-2018-best-supporting-actress-predictions-1201789022/
SLAM!
If Only The Brave wasn't such a disappointment box-office wise, I would've suggested Jennifer Connely.

Yeah, it's a shame that she won't get much of a push, if any. She was actually the MVP of the movie IMO.
Valonqar
Janney wins. Nobody has her buzz and memorable performance, except young Brooklynn Prince but would they give it to a child? It didn't happen since Anna Paquin in the 90s. Game over ladies. Edited October 23, 2017 by Valonqar
Eric Prime
While lurking the AwardsWatch forums, new information has been unveiled. Anne Krieps is being campaigned for lead, as well as Brooklynn Prince, instead of supporting like a lot of other people thought. Good for Hong Chau and Kristen Scott Thomas I guess.
