UPDATED Monday total is $55.2M and is 2nd biggest OS Monday, missing the record by $0.5M. It is behind Fate of the Furious ($55.7M).

$64.5M Tuesday is a record, beating The Avengers ($42.3M) and The Force Awakens ($41.3M) which are now at #2 and #3 respectively. Fate of the Furious made $39.1M on its first Tuesday.

The increase from Monday was 16.8%. Marvel's The Avengers, when removing the openings of Singapore, Thaliand, Bulgaria and Latvia (about $3.5M) sold $38.8M on Tuesday, which is a 17.2% increase. Therefore, Infinity War's 16.8% increase is quite similar.

So is 2 billion still in the game? :whosad:

Guys, seriously...it's Tuesday after the 1st weekend and it's doing really well...it's way too early to worry about a number being safe, let's see the weekend legs first.

If it drops less than 55% next weekend and has an expectedly big gross in Russia ($40M) and China ($300M) then I don't see how it wouldn't reach $2B.

It’s over. My psyche can’t stand these low numbers.

The goal is to make > $745M by Sunday, which is the second-Sunday record achieved by Fate of the Furious last year.

FF8

With engines humming in its second lap around the international box office track, Universal’s The Fate Of The Furiousput another $158.1M in the tank. That was lower than the Sunday estimate of $163.4M partly down to a recalibrated FSS dollar figure in China which nevertheless saw the film maintain a $745M offshore cume in 65 markets as reported on Sunday ($756.4M through Monday). The global rally through Sunday was $908.5M. The latest entry in the 16-year-old franchise held No. 1 everywhere. Worldwide, it will leave $1B in the rear view this week.
