WrathOfHan

Weekend Actuals (Page 150): Apes 56.3M | SMH 44.2M | DM3 19.4M | Baby 8.7M | Big Dick 7.5M | WW 6.8M | Wish Upon 5.5M | Tomatoes losing their power

Even with a 55% drop Homecoming can still make it even with 45% drops the next weekend:

Weekend 3: $19.9M ($247M)

Weekend 4: $11M ($268M)

Weekend 5: $6.5M ($282M)

Weekend 6: $3.5M ($289M)

Weekend 7: $1.6M ($293M)

Weekend 8: $.8M ($295M)

Weekend 9: (with an expansion): $2M four day ($298.5M)

Sony will then fudge it from there.

That's an option I guess I'd be okay with... But yeah I'm hardcore pushing for Apes

Apes is better than Spider-Man Homecoming but between DM3 and Homecoming I'd choose the latter in a heartbeat.

Yeah not sure what happen to the RT or WOM on this movie. It only had one major competition this weekend (APES).

I remember MOS had two major one "WWZ and MU" at the same time, and it dropped -3% more then SMH..... this movie is in danger of going sub $300M if it drop above 55% next weekend .... Dunkirk/Valerian will hurt it for sure.

Spidey is a good movie, but many people simply aren't excited to rush to see it. Is it because its another Marvel movie? Is it because it's just another Spidey movie? Is it because of the school setting and the young Spider Man?

I mean, he should be called Spider Boy, considering he's still a teenager. Perhaps this movie is lacking views from old audiences. I'm not sure if old people are excited to see such young Spidey. Apes actually didn't hurt Spidey that much, considering its opening was at the low end of the expectations.

My Queen DID that! Wish it hadn't suffered the theater drop, so it could have legged its way past $50M.

Either way, a success, and not Queen celebrating!!!

Did @Ethan Hunt just say that nobody cares about Infinity War? If so, that's one of the most ridiculous things I've read on here (which is saying a lot).

People will see it because it's the Avengers. The thought that people actually care about Thanks or the infinity stones or whatever is funny

Unlike MOS it shouldn't drop - since August is empty - 59% in the 5th, 62% in the 6th weekend and another 59% in 7th weekend

but yall are acting dumb on purpose so..

Are you really calling people dumb because your pet movie dropped 62%? Seems pretty childish.

My family wants to see a movie. They're talking about DM3

I trying to desperately to convince them literally anything else

You won't win on Apes...I'd push for Spidey and be happy...although I'm seeing DM3 this week, so I'll let you know if I think you'd feel tortured:)...

When I saw the first Friday to sun drop I did mention something about the film doing a Man Of Steel and falling just shy of 300domestic.

That could very well be a possibility if next weekend Doesnt hold well.

Remember how some of us said $300M would not happen for SS after the second weekend drop, let's wait for the third weekend at least. Or $500M for Beast after Boss Baby opened.

At this point I'm not even sure if Competition is even a factor anymore.

The film didn't hold well against a 56mil opener which isn't much of you really think about it.

Thing is: Neither SS nor Beauty and the Beast were well reviewed movies. SS was destroyed and BATB was mixed at best. Neither had a 93% on RT.

While the drop is not anything new for this kind of movie, it's new for a MCU movie and a certified fresh movie.
