Amidst the rubble, a young girl cries out for her parents but no one answers. Behind her, we see a large purple figure emerge from the cloud of smoke. It stops behind the girl, towering over her as the camera focuses in on the figure’s growing smirk. The girl continues to cry, not noticing the giant monster (it resembles Piccolo from Dragon Ball Z except with purple skin) reach out its right arm. Its hand grows, thorns protruding out of its fingers, as its palm begins to dwarf the girl. The creature laughs deeply as it gets ready to clench its fist together. Just before the creature clenches down, an unseen figure flashes by the purple monstrosity, snatching the girl out of its way. We see a bald man in a yellow jumpsuit with a white cape shielding the little girl in his arms. The purple figure looks at the man, a quizzical expression on his face. The Monster (mocap performance/cameo by Mark Strong): And just who the hell do we have here? The camera cuts to the hero’s face, partly covered in shadow. A smile etched across his face. LAGER PICTURES *Black Screen* The Hero (voice-over): Me? Montage of the hero being attacked by various monsters. A humanoid praying mantis swings down its arms on the hero in an apartment building. A giant lion destroys everything in its path as it tries to claw at the man. The Hero (voice-over): I’m just a guy who’s a hero for fun. More footage of the man fighting faceless red-eyed creatures in an apocalyptic looking setting. The fight looks extremely intense as punches are thrown around at a rapid pace. *Cut back to the present moment* The monster scoffs at the man, not believing a word he is hearing. The Monster: What kind of a half-assed backstory is that? THIS SUMMER The Monster: I am the Vaccine Man! You humans are nothing but a disease-causing bacteria eating away at Mother Earth’s lifeforce! The Vaccine Man’s body begins to convulse as its body and muscles grow larger. More thorns begin to stick out of the creature’s body WITNESS THE BIRTH Vaccine Man: In order to obliterate humans and their evil civilization, the Earth has given birth to me! The man stares up at the monster as its shadowy figure grows on him, his eyebrow raised. Vaccine Man: You say you do this for fun?! FOR FUN?! OF A NEW HERO Vaccine Man: How dare you confront me, Mother Earth’s apostle, for that insane reason!!! The creature now towers over the hero, tusks protruding out if its mouth as it screams down at man. The man smiles as he clenches his fist, cocks his arm back, and punches the creature into oblivion. The man stands with smoke coming off of his fists. The creature’s body parts fall from the sky all around him. The man stares at his fist, seemingly dumbfounded. He clenches it as his face turns to anger. The Man: No, no, no. Not again! The man collapses to his hands and knees. The Man: All it took was one punch! The camera pulls out on the city and to the sky. The Man (screaming): God damn it!!!!!! We cut to a scene of the man watering his plants outside of his apartment. A lone mosquito wizzes by and lands on his head. The team are currently looking for a director to helm the project. According to insiders, a few recognizable names have been thrown around including Pete Doctor, James Gunn, and Andy Serkis. The film is expected for a release date slated around the holiday season, sometime in November or December.
