Happy I have a free-ish weekend. Will be able to see IT and actually keep up to date on the #s. Although it looks like I missed absolutely nothing box office-wise since I started this job at the end of July.

Honestly think this will be a pretty big overseas hit as well (I doubt Portugal is going to be the only country that likes this movie )

Highly unlikely even without Irma tampering the grosses somewhat. The afternoon shows just won't be busy enough (since horror movies traditionally make most of their business in the evening/night).

IT has out paced all 2017 films with the exception of Wonder Woman. Wonder Woman had 901 tickets sold 3 hours from the first showing and IT has 839 tickets sold.

also would mean dunkirk's dom eventually gets over-taken and IT becomes wb's biggest non-cbm movie of the year.

 

if one looks at non-cbm, then sw8, dm3, dunkirk and IT could be the top 4 of the year. 

#5 is lego-bat (just ahead of get-out) with coco looking to challenge it.

 

though i think 75-85 ow will happen for IT.

I think Friday will be massive though. Like $35M+ massive due to the events on the weekend.
