I never understood this argument. Good thing that it does have Soderbergh's direction then? Why does some hypothetical version of the movie not directed by him matter?

 

13 is my favorite btw. No Julia Roberts, fun Pacino in place of dull Garcia as the villain, Garcia himself in a better role. Best score as well. Damon with that fake nose. It's a non-stop relaxed delight.

I guess I was never looking for genuine threat from the villains of these movies. These aren't dramas, or at least they shouldn't try to be. I had more fun seeing Pacino brought down than I did Garcia.

Whichever is the one where they sorta break the fourth wall and say that Julia Robert's character looks like Julia Roberts so they try and pass her off as such... made that movie twice as good as it would have been

11 is Hollywood doing what it does best.  Have a bunch of stars and it’s only goal is to entertain you in its two hours.  There’s no pretense or bullshit. I already mentioned 13.  12 to me was a case of look how clever and cute we can be and that was off putting
