Finally a good drop for HDD, I knew that the OW of Shitsaw wouldn’t affect it.

Awful OW for Jigsaw, but I wouldn’t expect anything less from a dated franchise, there’s no space for this type of Horror anymore, Horror fans now has some high standards (or at least most of us), this franchise always has been pure garbage, and now is finally buried, amen.

Lmao you're deluded if you think the OW for Jigsaw is awful.  It's not great but it only has a $10M budget and should make its money back easily.

It's gonna make more than Saw VI (which was hurt by Paranormal Activity arriving on the scene and taking away all of the attention), so it's not doing too bad.

I’m not being delusional, it still the second lowest OW of the franchise (and may be the lowest one in ADMs), despite having a 7 years break, Lionsgate failed to stop the bleeding, and if there’s another one, it will be a real flop, so, yeah, that’s the end of line for this franchise.

No, it's not. Lionsgate will continue as long as they're still profitable. Jigsaw will likely make 6-7x the budget total.

...and the prod budget is only 10m. SawVI had a prod budget of 11m 8 years back (Saw3D was even higher with 20m but that's due to 3D I guess) so to keep Jigsaw at 10m must have taken some realism and credit to the studio for that realism, considering we see some well-received and acclaimed yet ill-budgeted flops every year.

If a movie has a 10 million budget and makes 30 million domestic and probably another 30-40 million overseas, it'll be profitable.

It's even better if this is the 8th movie of a franchise that has nothing to prove. Saw has always been profitable.

Can't wait for JIIgsaw and JIIIgsaw. :)

I love how you guys tend to forget about marketing, especially in this age where DVD sales are dead. Adding marketing to this movie would bring it’s total budget to AT LEAST $30M, it will make at best 2x it’s budget WW, streamings will give it some cents but don’t count on DVD sales to generate anything for a movie like this.

And my point is not this movie, but a future sequel where it would make around $30m-$40m WW on a $10m budget. If Saw VI was considered a disappointment grossing $68m on a $11m budget, I see no reason to another sequel.

And don’t you said last weekend that Jigsaw would cause another 50% drop to HDD? I’m waiting for this.

Ah yes, here come the "Han is so shit at predicting" posts that I trudged through this summer.

Yeah, this franchise has nothing to prove, Lionsgate released this movie thinking in the love of art, not to generate any money from this.
