I feel like Deadpool 2 is bound to see a big drop from the first one. Hope to be proven wrong though.

It has Josh Brolin. A drop is all but assured.

Top 10 predictions for 2018:

1. Infinity War: 210/525

2. The Incredibles 2: 135/470

3. Jurassic World 2: 170/460

4. Deadpool 2: 160/420

5. Black Panther: 120/330

6. Ron Howard's Solo: 120/330

7. Mary Poppins Returns: 50/300

8. Aquaman: 90/290

9. The Grinch: 70/280

10. Ant-Man: 85/240

This will probably be horribly wrong in about a year.

Why such good legs for IW and why so big for DP2?

I mean I don't think most people expect it to have better legs than Civil War

May also has fuck all in 2018. People will see it because it's the only thing out until Memorial Day or worse: June.

A 2.5 is good legs?

It's a similar increase as GOTG. I don't see much reason for it to fall, and the market is nowhere near as busy as some suggest.

For an Avengers movie and an opener over $150M it is. IW will be lucky for a 2.4x.

With Solo, O8, JW2, and to a way lesser extent I2 competing for adults and screens, along with the fact that Deadpool 2 is in the middle of IW and I2 in terms of superhero tentpoles I feel it may suffer.

On an unrelated but perhaps mentioned but there’s 5 superhero movies in the summer (IW, DP2, TI2, AM2, and TTG).

What is that last one?

Edit: Oh, Teen Titans. Nobody knows, nobody cares.

It's funny how May has two juggernauts opening on opposite ends of the month before a June that resembles May 2007 in which it has three mega-sequels over four weeks. Although Ocean's Eight is saddled in there and will likely make Ghostbusters '16 numbers (which would likely be great for it since I doubt the budget is anywhere even close to as high).

*pops back into forum for usually every-other-month check in*

Infinity War won't do 200m OW or 500m total

Incredibles will open as high as Dory but won't hit 400m

Mamma Mia and Oceans Eight will both do 150m+

WOW WHY IS SUMMER '18 SO SLAMMED WHERE WAS THIS LOVE LAST AUGUST

ok goodbye!
