Cooper Legion
Best as I can tell, the current record for non-premiere, non-holiday season Wednesday is Avengers with 13.6 (15.4 adjusted). So I’d consider anything 15.5 and up a huge success. That would be ~a 28% drop, so should be quite doable. Interestingly enough, not counting the Fourth of July summer entries near the top of the list that were on their second day of release (TF1, TASM), there are only five summer movies on that Top 25 list (JW, TDK, Dory, DMC, and TDKR). Otherwise the list is utterly dominated by Thanksgiving/December releases until The Avengers pops in at #25. FWIW, the adjusted list tells a similar tale. a2k
DP Tue was -72.7% from Sat. BP Tue is -67.4% from Sat. DP Wed and Thu were -25.5% and -6.9%. ---- Going a little conservative and using -32% for Wed and -9% for Thu, 242.2 + 21.5 + 14.6 + 13.1 = 291.4 60% drop gives 80.8 weekend for 372.2 cume, nearly 10 more than DP final dom. DP added 2.23x the 2nd weekend to it's 10-day. Using 2.0x for BP takes it to 533.8, just below TDK (including re-release).
