lilmac
I also thought that woman was an evolved zombie of some sort. She was so weird. Anyway, pleasantly surprised by the opening episode. I expected a bore fest but there's enough to look forward to that will keep me engaged.
Kevin Bacon
I expected a bore festThen in what way did it surprise you?
lilmac
Then in what way did it surprise you?- the 'walmart' scene- the ending in the shower- my favorite kitana sword wielding heroine having more screentime and lines- Carl being less annoying- enough compelling secondary characters
lilmac
How come it is so easy for the Walkers to tear apart flesh. You'd think they would be too weak or their teeth would be rotten out.
CoolioD1
Maybe I like being a contrarian asshole but I thought that was a really good episode.

Guessed that Beth's boyfriend was going to die the minute he was introduced. He had that "redshirt" look on him. Plus it was interesting to see Harry Potter get Ebola or something. CoolioD1
It's amazing what people expect out of an episode with flesh eating zombies and this one looked like it got the job done to me for a season 4 opener.. That's what the Greatness of BREAKING BAD will do to ya... I mean, sure, the best episode of The Walking Dead isn't fit to clean the worst episode of Breaking Bad's asshole, but I really can't see how Breaking Bad can "ruin" another show for someone. Eh, that's not the way my mind works, I guess.
4815162342
Whatever problems we here sometimes have with the show, its formula seems to be working great with the general public
CoolioD1
And yeah, holy fucking christ at those ratings.

TWD wasn't made to get the awards, it was made to provide a new spin on visceral entertainment and nationwide it's clearly succeeding tremendously. CoolioD1
With those ratings AMC gonna renew this for seasons 5, 6, 7 and 8. Goddamn.
narniadis
amazing that this show is pulling numbers unimagined for Cable even 2 years ago..... 16m is near the top of the Broadcast's best list and that demo rating is like the best numbers from the Drama Heyday 10 years ago (lost, Desperate Housewives, CSI)

baumer
The first episode was a letdown. No Governor, too many new characters, Carl is still annoying and the chick in the woods was a waste. The end was good and the Walmart was really good. The numbers are astounding and this should is one of the best on tv imo. I just hope it gets a little better. Wadey Wilsoney
Yeah what was the point of the girl in the woods? Is that walker whose face they didn't show going to play a role in future episodes?
Michael Gary Scott
Yeah what was the point of the girl in the woods? 4815162342
Plus it was meant to establish how the Prison Community had a policy on how to deal with outsiders (via the 3 Questions) to determine whether or not to bring them in.
