Interestingly, if Halloween follows The Nun's IM from a $33M Friday, it'll hit $80.3M for the weekend. That'd be an amazing photo finish for the record.

 

Worth noting though, that $33M would also mean it was a bit less frontloaded to previews than The Nun, so I think there's some upswing there that could happen. I could see it hitting 30 today and 19 on Sunday for a $82M weekend.

Opening below 9mil is meh for THUG. 

 

If First Man actually does fall 44%, now is it okay to call it an official disappointment? I'm going to assume Deadline means 4.9mil for Venom because if they don't their protection makes no sense.

Halloween was less frontloaded than IT from previews to Friday, didn’t see that coming. That’s a nice race audience split too. And age split. 

 

Halloween will now have the biggest slasher opening weekend of all time.... in the space of two days.

I just hope it helps resurrect the genre. I mostly enjoy all horror but slashers always have a special place in my heart.

How the hell can they think ASIB will do 1,3 more than Venom for the weekend if it has 0,3 less on friday?? Saturday jump will obvious be bigger for Venom

They are still salty from the 7 million mockery we made of them last weekend when they predicted it would be “oh so close” between us but with ‘a remake is born’ coming out on top. Now they’ve already been scaling back on how much butterface would beat our opening by and it’s only just turned Saturday

The fact that it’s coming as close as it is to Venom is truly remarkable. In a perfect world it would take the record though. Halloween having the October record just sounds right.
