SLAM!
Speaking of Widows, I think Viola Davis' chances have decreased drastically if she couldn't get nommed here. Edited December 6, 2018 by Slambros

filmlover
Now that I think about it Chalamet makes total sense as someone who gets in here and at SAG and then gets snubbed on Oscar nom morning. Replace him with Elliott and this might very well end up being the nominees. Edited December 6, 2018 by filmlover

SLAM!
I knew there was a reason why I went to see A Private War last Sunday; it makes a lot of sense for the film to get those nominations here. Sure, Rosamund Pike pushed out Toni Colette, but Pike is pretty deserving in her own right. And that song definitely seemed like a good nomination because I think that's the first new song by Annie Lennox since maybe 2010. Hopefully, more people see A Private War because of its nominations. Valonqar
Sucks that Coleman and Blunt share the category cause Coleman will win. She is locked for Oscar nom with or without Comedy win but Blunt needs it. However, since MPR sent screeners and if continues to storm the awards and Top 10s, she'll be nominated. WrathOfHan
My thoughts: WOW @ that Sam Elliott snub. I told you guys he wouldn’t win the Oscar Ethan Hawke’s snub is also pretty big. Maybe I jinxed him by adding him into my predictions? 🤔 Vice is fine, and anyone who’s still doubting it is in for a surprise. Bohemian Rhapsody’s nomination will push my club over the edge! A Quiet Place in Score is pretty cool and unexpected. Curious to see if it makes the Oscar shortlist

Cap
Good: Black Panther with 3 Nominations, Blackkklansman coming in strong, First Man basically locked out Bad: Bohemian Rhapsody getting anything, Green Book with FIVE? (Uggggh) Meh, Expected: Everything else. Edited December 6, 2018 by captainwondyful 2

filmlover
Yeah, Gosling missing here is really bad news for him. Although I’m guessing he missed for either Denzel’s son or that Lucas Hedges make up nom.
Valonqar
Yeah, Hawke is in no danger cause his snub was expected, just like Chalamet inclusion was expected. Globes are tough cause they nominate too many (thanks to 2 categories) so someone is bound to get shafted and get replaced. SAG should give us a clearer picture as far as overlaps go and who they'll resurrect at least for a moment.

FilmBuff
Overall, pretty happy with the nominations. Only thing I was kinda hoping for a Michael B Jordan bsa nomination. He was so good in BP.
