You didn't realize that Canada was a separate country from the US?

Of course we have our own currency. Our money is different colors and yes we accept US dollars but nobody uses them here. The entire country uses our own currency.

Wow.

Uh no. You generally switch out your money at the border.Do you try to use Pounds in Germany?

I get that Switzerland is a special situation though.

Sorry if it sounded stupid. To be honest I had never really thought about it, is all.

I live in Europe where multiple countries sharing currency is quite normal. There are a few countries that don't use the euro and you can generally buy things in euros in most places.

Nah it's all good. I know exactly what you mean about basic concepts that you just never happen to think about until it's pointed out or staring at you right in the face.

Yep. All good. I don't expect anyone in Europe to know anything about Canada. I'm sure you guys living in Europe know about as much about Canada as I would know as a place like Belgium.

For perspective;

Star Wars: The Force Awakens - C$133mn ($96mn) At today's rate $102mn

Avengers: Endgame -C$114mn ($84mn) At today's rate $87mn

Avatar - C$102mn ($98mn) At today's rate $74mn

Another would be Toy Story 4, last I checked was last week.

Toy Story 4 - C$32mn ($24mn) Full run perhaps C$38mn ($29mn)

Toy Story 3 - C$35mn ($34mn)

Would be interesting to see how the market helps legs for NA gross overall.
