Apes should have a strong opening. I think it might have a total similar to Dawn maybe slightly lower due to competition from Dunkirk.

Transformers is doing awful business, it's going to miss or barely crack £10m, Pirates seemed to somewhat recover from its weak opening but will just miss £20m. Wonder Woman considering it had to battle with the hot weather for the first few weeks managed to do quite well cracking £20m and likely finish with around £22m. Who'd thought last year, Wonder Woman would end up beating both Pirates and Transformers.

Why Fox decided to opt for 3D only previews is odd and also having limited showings on the Tuesday opening.

and Fox decided to NOT have any 3D version or IMAX here in malaysia, only 2D standard showing, I don't understand their strategy

Apes isn't too bad compared to other countries, but I did expect a little more. Dawn opened with £8.7m and Rise with £5.8m.

Despicable Me 3 is doing really well. With summer holidays coming up £40m may be on the cards.

Decent hold for Spider-Man, down 45% without previews. And how is that pathetic, all spider-man films apart from SM3 have grossed between £24-27m (obviously not taking into account inflation) so it's very consistent, and Homecoming is heading for the same range. It has school holidays coming up too which TASM2 didn't have.

Pretty bad for Cars 3, but not unexpected, it's never been that popular.

Dunkirk's OW is going to be interesting, I'm thinking £5-6m which is the range of both Inception which did £5.9m and Interstellar which did £5.3m, it could surprise and do over both since the shorter running time means they can have more showings.

I think £4-5m opening, with a very strong performance in IMAX especially. Legs will likely be good as it'll skew older.

£4m wouldn't be great considering Nolan's last two non Dark Knight films have done over £5m.

I was going to say that the Pound to us dollar annual average make that 4 look like a 5 of the past and would not be that different

2010: 1.545893

2014: 1.647701

2017: 1.261856

4 million in 2017 would be in 2010/2014 exchange rate

2010: 4.9

2014: 5.22

But Inception made 9m and Interstellar 8.5m
