While rough (by far) thats not a horrible drop for Sonic - IF it plays like a family / kid film this weekend and not a frontloaded fandriven event.

But still -50% is ouch

Recalled Alita also had this ouch drop last year. It did $13.5mn 2nd weekend post $1.75mn Wednesday i.e. 7.7x

LEGO 2 did $9.7mn post $1.22mn Wednesday i.e. 7.95x.

From 2.45, that goes for just $18.5-20mn weekend.

Just realised, all Iron Man films, which weren't distributed by Disney are the ones under $400mn.:Gaga:

So Mickey's Law applies to all non-Disney studios, but maybe Parabomb has another Law that makes its box office even worse than the other ones. Sponge's Law? Cruise's Law? Captain's Lawg?

How To Train Your Dragon 3 opened during Lego Movie 2's third weekend. Sonic's biggest competition for families is Call of the Wild, a movie that'll be lucky to make high teens for its OW.
