The second video game movie boom has begun.

Quote

Cabin Fever and Hostel director Eli Roth is set to direct the movie adaptation of Borderlands, the action video game franchise, for Lionsgate.

Emmy-winning screenwriter Craig Mazin penned the script for the project, to be produced by producers Avi Arad and Ari Arad through their Arad Productions banner, and Erik Feig, who oversaw development, through Picturestart. The action RPG shooter franchise from developer Gearbox Software and publisher 2K most recently unveiled the Borderlands 3 version in September 2019.

No, no, no... I can't die like this... Not when I'm so close... And not at the hands of a filthy bandit! I could have saved this planet! I could have actually restored order! And I wasn't supposed to die by the hands... of a CHILD KILLING PSYCHOPATH!! You're a savage! You're a maniac, you are a bandit, AND I AM THE GODDAMN HERO!!

Cate Blanchett is a weird choice for Lilith. I just really don't see it

I can; she has played some pretty kickass women in some of her movies.

A bit older then in the game but I don't see that as an issue. What I want to know is who will be the voice of Claptrap....

I can see Blanchett play someone in their 40s but Lilith (in the first game at least) looks like she's in her mid 20s at most.

Pretty clear the producers and director have decided to go in a different direction with Lillith.

Other thing is you can make this movie on a reasonable budget.

Why Budapest?

You could drive three hours east into the Mojave desert, and find locations perfect  for Pandora. I am convcned the game desgingers based the abandoned mines where much of the game takes places on  abandoned mines in the Mohave.
