65. The Invitation (Kusama, 2015)
66. Upgrade (Whannel, 2018)

Great picks.

Gonna drop a FYC for both in honor of Tom Hardy's long lost twin brother. He's really good in both of those movies.

The severe lack of Prisoners (2013) from most people’s lists here is odd.  I thought it was more well known among movie circles.

I know Arrival is Denis Villeneuve most popular film but Prisoners and Incendies are just as good if not better imo

I don't think It has anything to do with a lack of being well known

Incendies, Prisoners, Sicario, and Enemy are in my list. Arrival and BR 2049 (easily his worst film imo) aren't.

yeah I guess but more well known movies tend to be on most people's lists like Mad Max, Parasite, A Separation, Nolan, Arrival, Gone Girl etc.

I just found it a bit odd that it's rarely on most people's top 100 of the decade. (like from 60-100).

Yeah. Prisoners is easily his "worst" english speaking film.

Biggest surprise for me based on the lists posted is Gravity showing up that much and in high places. It's a good movie but didn't expect it to be that strong.

I watched Prisoners all the way back in 2014 when I only started to watch a lot of movies (espescially R-rated ones) and it amazed me back then. Maybe I won't like it as much now, Have a few films like that in my list (like Birdman) and a few others I would have had in my list if I hadn't rewatched them more recently (for example Life of Pi was a 10/10 back in 2012, became a 7/10 when I rewatched it 2-3 years back).

biggest surprise for me is someone calling Prisoners Denis's worst film.never really seen this take before.

for me his weakest is either Sicario or Enemy (Enemy was more of a puzzle)  but even those are still solid 8/10s imo.

this is probably unpopular opinion but Gravity is my 2nd fav Cuaron movie after Children of Men, it's p much a masterclass in  cinematography (as per his usual) in addition to being a great survival thriller.

I think the movie is similar to 1917 in a lot of ways. Technically impressive and contains some amazing spectacle but the writing is also conventional and repetitive. Cuaron's worst film (even his Harry Potter film is much better) imo.

I found it just as good on rewatch, it's a great mystery thriller with brilliant foreshadowings all along. I guess some people might be put off by the runtime or the pacing but I found it just as intense for the entirety of its 2H33M length.

the comps to 1917 are fair i guess but Sandra Bullock delivers a solid performance and it was not as self-indulgent as the Revenant  (besides being only 90minutes long is a plus)
