Now that I think about it, the only explanation I can think of is that she’s going to be a Supergirl from an alternate universe. That seems like the only organic way for her to be introduced into this setting.

As far as I’m aware, the Snyder Cut is its own thing separate from the rest of the DCEU. The 2017 Justice League film is the canon version.

This trended pretty fast in the states to number 5, I honestly didn’t think people would care. I know it won’t stay trending long but overall I’m happy to see most people are excited/happy.

But also John Williams' score...which is always welcome.  Interesting news.  My bet is that this Supergirl will be drawn from the multiverse, Krypton 467 or similar.  In his timestream reboot, The Flash will make all things infinite and precise, incorporating heroes from various universes back into our central one.  Neat trick, as long as they can do it with more gravity than The CW shows...which won't be hard.  (Just wish someone other than E. Miller was cast.) 

 

And it does make me ponder...it was always curious to have a blonde Supergirl anyway, if we're talking about someone supposedly genetically related to the El family... and I don't think we saw many blondes on Krypton in Man of Steel, either!  🤣

 

I'm sure the mystery of Kal-El himself will remain a question mark they can fill in later with new "multiverse" casting, should they not agree with Cavill on any new deal...

DC Fandome was pretty clear in stating that all versions are "canon" and exist simultaneously in the multiverse. Flashpoint will be the nexus where the Snyderverse interacts and possibly merges with some of the other existing universes.

A Latina Supergirl can connect incredibly well as the Superman story IS an immigrant story above all else.
