The Flash | June 16 2023 | Ezra Miller, Michael Keaton | We’re stoping the count at a Nice 69% RT (it’s 72% For Real) | Please Remember that Your Enjoyment Of The Film is Not Based On Others Opinions And To Be Nice To Each Other

I think the score would be on par with Guardians if DC hadn't pulled the ridiculous "best DC ever" nonsense.

Also, there is no grand conspiracy theory against CBMs. Spider-Verse got 86 on MC literally a week ago. Guardians got good reviews. And Black Panther. And The Batman. And No Way Home. And Shang-Chi. And The Suicide Squad. Need I go on?

Anyways, I hope you all form your own opinion on the movie after watching. You don't have to agree with or disagree with critics :)

It's worth noting that Guardians 3 has a 64 on Metacritic and is still considered a top CBM by many of us. And Flash is currently at 60. Don't get your balls in a twist over underwhelming reviews. Trust me, it does more bad than good. See the movie for yourself and form your own opinion. Thanks, and have a good day.

I disagree. I think most critics have learned to take studio hyperboyle with a ton of salt. Seems to be the fanboys who fall for it every time.

I thnk the whole Critics hate CBM routine is really overblown. Thing is they don't have the passion for the genre that some here have, and some people just cannot forgive them for that.

I suspect this will be something of a midlevel sucess. It will make profit, but not near what WB was hoping for.

And it is fascinating how this has gone from being the make or break film for the DCU to being a standard DC release.

But DC is cleary betting the house on "Superman:Legacy".

The film is awful. Literally awful. Oscar for Worst Visual Effects.

But still a 3/5.

Are you saying the film is awful overall, or just the effects are awful?

???

Anyway, up to 74% on RT with 68 reviews. Maybe we'll get a 61 MC once that Slant review is improved from a 50 to a 63, but realistically I expect more mixed or negative reviews to come in and balance things out anyway.

Just the effects and Ezra. But I was never a fan of Ezra's Barry, and somehow he's worse here.

And about the effects... this looks like a film made by only previz. Almost everything looks like this:

How come it's OK for Fans to have biases, but not critics?

Because critics are supposed to analyze the movie and it's story / characters, not the real person behind the character.
A critic that can't seperate the art from the artist should not review the movie at all.

??? exactly.

A film is really awful but gets 3 out of 5? Or does he mean that the effects are awful. Needs to clarify.

At this point Love & Thunder was at 72% with a 6.7/10 average.

So Flash is up by 2% but is down by .2 on the average. Makes me think it'll settle in the 60s when everything's said and done but it could still hold on and stay in the low 70s.

Not that high 605 or low 70% would mean much difference at the box office. It's getting a "Pretty Good but nohting to write home about" reception,.
