For what is worth, 5m in pre-previews  (this is getting ridiculous) is a lot of tickets sold and demand burnt. Plus, I believe that this will skew older than your typical cbm on top of having better walk ups. So I am gonna say 145-150M.

Absolutely, it's a ton of tickets before true Thursday and I share that same concern, while also agreeing that this one could benefit greatly from older audiences. Anything over $130m for me would be a big win. $140m+ imo would be awesome.

Based on ZackM’s MTC1 scraping, I would be surprised at over $5M Tues/Weds. I would think something more in the $3.8-4.2M range.

Still good for sure, but yeah, $5m feels kind of absurd coming off of the $2m Tuesday which seemed to be more heavily advertised than the Investor Connect screenings on Wednesday.

Not that’s it’s much but Canada had shows last night as well but not Tuesday.

The Batman, counted today at 10am EST for Friday, March 4:

NY (AMC Fresh Meadows 7): 1.115 (19 showtimes)
Miami (AMC Sunset Place 24): 1.743 (21 showtimes)
Grand Rapids (AMC Grand Rapids 18): 477 (16 showtimes)
Austin (AMC Lakeline 9): 168 (7 showtimes)
Tempe/Phoenix (AMC Centerpoint 11): 539 (16 showtimes)
San Francisco (AMC Metreon 16): 1.340 (23 showtimes)
LA (AMC Universal): 1.902 (26 showtimes)

Total tickets sold in 7 theaters: 7.284.

Up 27.5% since Tuesday.
Comps (all counted on Thursday for Friday) : BoP (9M true Friday) had 1.664 sold tickets = x4.38 = 39.4M true Friday for The Batman.
Eternals (21.2M) had 4.090 sold tickets = x1.78 = 37.75M.

SC (20.8M) had 3.740 sold tickets = x1.95 = 40.55M.
And TSS (8.0M) had 1.560 sold tickets = x4.67 = 37.35M.

So Batman slightly lost in the comps but of course it's way more difficult to retain the same multiplier with 5k+ tickets than with 1 or 2k.
Overall I would stick with ca.
40M true Friday because it has no HBO Max competition and as it seems the way better WOM (96% and 4.7/5 at RT) than e.g. Eternals. Fingers crossed.

Canada only added something like 150k

Ya I figured it wasn’t much, most of the shows were sold out or front row only but I think at the theatres I counted it was about 2400 tickets.

The Lord Of The Rings Mueller Report GIF by reactionseditor

^^ Me after doing my first run through of 15 theaters with 325 screens (that's screens, not showtimes). Doing this for every opener each week won't be an issue since most are decently small but for the big films (i.e $100M+ openers), it's a bitch. Can't imagine what it's gonna be like to do a $200M or even $300M OW film.

Anyway, I will be posting the date in about 30 minutes.

Don't be.  Marvel, even a film like Eternals, has very strong walkups.  Batsy would need to do over TWICE that amount of walkups if it wanted to keep pace.
