@Eric Says Trans Rights can you give Uncharted first x days of sales comp for Sonic 2. May be even Shang Chi.

I think those two will give a much better study then Sing 2 or Sonic 1 adjusted.

Thanks.

Uncharted is definitely coming tonight, as is Ghostbusters: Afterlife. I'm not sure if Shang-Chi fits, but might as well give it a shot.

I don't know if this is a mediocre final Sunday, which is generally an indicator on what's to come in the days ahead, or just a course-correction after the Saturday Fandango previews. Either way, things are kinda hard to parse out.

So like...I know it's still very early and the film could come to earth by a lot and it probably will...but is this hitting 100M? Because unless I'm just really tired and not thinking straight, preview numbers like these feel like safe bets for 100M. That...probably won't happen, but I would not mind tbh.

Wellll, the GBA and SC comps are both being compared to their Day 1s, with Sonic 2 having a week head start.  Also has a four day head start on Uncharted

FWIW my local comps (yes I am compiling nightly numbers on my home sheet "just in case") aren't as rosy, though I don't have any Uncharted comps to call on.  I'll take a deeper look when I'm done with my checks tonight and if they're interesting, post them at some point tonight.

@Porthos I guess gotta do quick and dirty check for Sonic?

I am waiting for something to start Harkins. If that happen, it will be really great.

I mean I did the check, but it wasn't particularly interesting. 😛

(also I'm very busy offsite setting up my fantasy baseball league for 2022).

But, I suppose...

Not So Quick But Fairly Dirty Sonic 2 Sacto Check:

387/11666 (3.32%) [+13 tickets today]

My main problem here is... I have no good/decent comps.  I could comp against Ghostbusters: Afterlife's first day (1.945x [8.75m] for the record), but I don't see much value in that.

If I squint, I could use F9 since that's backloaded and has been on sale almost the amount of time.

Sonic 2 = 0.49742x F9 [3.53m]

But I think Sonic 2 is gonna be even more backloaded than F9.

Could comp it against Venom 2, as there's only two day's difference there.

Sonic 2 = 0.57333x Venom 2 [6.65m]

But I kinda think Venom 2 is too backloaded to work.

Finally, do have the comp against Pika Pika (adj for different tracking):

Sonic 2 (adj) = 0.78271x Pika Pika [4.46m => 3.79m after further adjusting for 2022->2019 differences]

So... Like, choose your own adventure.  Anywhere from 3.5m to 6.65m.  ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

I think $6M seems like a good number. $60-70M.

IM should be bit better than this I think. Obviously sequel will have much more % from previews but that is*quite* a lot more.

I mean Sonic could be like other male skewing family films and be a bit more frontloaded.
