One thing is for sure... "Boring" is not a word that could be used to describe the pre-sale run here in Sacto.  Of course, neither could "representative" or "accurate", but I'll take "not boring" over a few other scenarios that come to mind.  Even without the 75 tickets sold at two showings (50 and 25 tickets respectively, which were obviously group sales), it still did strong up and down the region.

 

I've long given up any idea of Sacto pointing to an accurate comp at the end of the day, unless I use the most ridiculous of CBM comps, and even that is looking pretty darn shaky right now. 

 

No... Now I'm just along for the ride, seeing where exactly this ends up locally.

 

PS:  Finally kicked the F9 comp to the curb.  Those group sales today were the final dagger/nail in the coffin.

No tickets on sale yet at AMC either even though it's only 10 days out. I have my doubts it'll be wide.

I'm seeing 444 locations with showings so far. I haven't heard how wide it's going, but there's still time to add a lot more.

Both my Cinemarks passed on Family Camp and are keeping Strange on 6 and 5 screens, respectively, and only giving Firestarter 1 screen (probably a mistake for Friday, when I'd have added a late show or 2 extra)...

 

Nothing got dropped at either (Strange gave up a screen at each), so Northman and FB3 both still have some viewings...

A24 doesn't really do TV spots, apart from their awards contenders. I think even Hereditary was solely a digital ad campaign.

It is. Expect the numbers to be much closer to X than to Everything Everywhere though.

Hereditary had some TV spots, as was Everything Everywhere All at Once.  It is true that A24 generally put more effort on internet marketing than TV marketing, though.
