Yes, MTC2 is Cinemark. We have never had chain-wide tracking for Regal, so it gets relegated to MTC3.

Spoiler

Ahh ok that’s what I thought (as you can see on my initial comment I edited it about a second after posting it originally). I had it as Cinemark then second guessed myself because I know Regal is technically bigger.

Sorry. had to use the Gif for sure. Anyway @ZurgXXR has the right answer. This happened back in 2019. Those were the only 2 MTC we could crack. @Menor Reborn did try MTC3 and got ip blocked 🙂

With the all the amount of sneakiness and subterfuge and collecting data here sometimes youd think that the movie counts were  some high security topics lol

I have still have some theatres that they have Thor4 presales, but don't have Lightyear sales up yet. Like weird

My thoughts on this is: Blame Top Gun.

JWD being huge (enough) was baked into the schedule, but the massive breakout for TGM?  Not nearly as much. So some theaters are probably facing a crunch on medium-to-larger screens and were waiting to see just how big JWD was gonna be and how well TGM was holding before really setting up Lightyear, especially the theaters with smaller number of screens.  Thor: Love and Thunder, by contrast, is far enough away that even though it has the second week of Minions 2 to contend with, it's easier to set aside screens.  But even there, L&T (thankfully for me at least) didn't get the initial set of screens that, say, MoM got.

I know locally LY had a very low (for nowadays at least) screen count and it was only yesterday that the expansions started to roll in.  Haven't had a chance to see just how much it is expanding today, but it's not a surprise to me to see theaters waiting until the last moment for Lightyear. Especially since how well it is gonna play at box office is still somewhat uncertain.

you want to do this in low profile way. Our data was quoted in tweets to MTC heads. That is not something we want. That is why its better to do it this way :-)

Thank you for your detailed data. Is it possible for you to capture pace for respective movies at similar dates as well. Like Thor 4 sold 124 tickets. How much did DS2 did or Bats did. Then we know how the trend will be in next few days until we have next big catalysts like Social Media reactions next week.

I can totally see the logic in that. TG2 really kind of bumped in there as a kind of "what if" type of situation. I think what surprised me was it was a couple of Toronto theatres who usually keep up with rest of TO theatres. SW theatres I def would understand, as they range from anywhere from 1-3 seat auditorium to VIP/Alamo type theatres to Megaplexes-so those were the ones I would expect to have late drops to their seat count-not so much Toronto based ones.

Have to see what happens when the massive seat drops hit tomorrow for Lightyear-but Ive got this niggling feeling that this is going to possibly be a softer one for Disney esp if Families who are uncertain about it might just wait for D+

Probably won't surprise anyone but Lightyear is doing gangbusters at the AMC Disney Springs. Both the 6:00 early show tomorrow and the 4:00 in Dolby on Thursday are almost sold out and a numerous other shows are selling well too.

Thank you. it provides better perspective for sure. Hopefully going forward you will have 24 hour pace comps and then switch to T-x at some point(may be a week into its run). Let us see what DS2 comps  say. Can it maintain say 80% of DS2 page.

Don't know, wasn't exactly following it at the time. Obviously did very well there though (no better place to see an actual Disney movie than on Disney property). Guessing it didn't have nearly as many screens as Lightyear appears to be getting (8 screens in total for the weekend it appears).
