Shantal
It is a Marvelous (pun indended) result, but no record in any way. Does that mean that Russians have embraced SH movies now or do they see TA as something else?Just a question - in the opening weekend for movies like Transformers 3 ($16,945,064) that started on a Wednesday (according to IMDB) are numbers from Wedn.-Thursd. included? Fullbuster
SH movies are recent in Russia, they learn to like them, and as their BO grow, we see more and more their interest in it :)TA crushes all SH movies in Russia, no question about it, it's the beginning of impressive BO numbers in Russia for these movies. Rudolf
I just saw 300(2007) made $10m, but The 300 Spartans(1962) had 27.1m admissions.
Lordmandeep
^^^Yeah a lot of old films get huge admission overseas.I remember Sergio Leone's Once Upon A time In The West is an all time top 10 admissions in France and other European countries. Jake Gittes
The box-office in the Soviet Union was far and away above that of today, and it still is. There were tens of thousands of theaters around the country, and tens of millions of admissions was the norm for big films. Avatar's got nothing on that.
