George Parr
Third trend is up, with hardly any changes. Only Halloween Kills drops by 2.5k, and two of the movies behind the top 6 drop by the same amount. #1: NTTD - 475 #2: Venom2 - 350k #3: Die Schule ... - 225k #4: Halloween Kills - 122.5k #5: BossBaby 2 - 75k #6: Dune - 65k 3

el sid
The Monday update looks also nice for all other films: #1 NTTD 500k #2 Venom2 357.5k #3 Schule der magischen Tiere 247.5k/685k - means it had a better true weekend than last week #4 HK 125k #5 BB2 80k/210k - at least a good hold #6 Dune 70k/1.532.5M - could overtake the movie of 1984 which had 1.6M admissions already this week ... The French Dispatch 40k - a quite ok start I think for only 119 copies. Edited October 25, 2021 by el sid

Both big openers did ok (as did The French Dispatch) and drops were fine for normal releases and excellent for family fare. Die Schule der magischen Tiere is developing into a domestic hit, nice! Next weekend: A new domestic comedy - Contra - will probably be the biggest opener, maybe it can open to #2. I see no other big openers so holds should be good again! 3

IndustriousAngel
good hold for NTTD (6mil still far away but not that impossible nay longer) and - if true - even better holds for Dune and French Dispatch. Also, domestic children's book adaption Die Schule der magischen Tiere is showing insane staying power - I haven't looked at the upcoming family releases but with this kind of holds it might leg it past the christmas holidays!

Yes, Monday is a legal holiday (Allerheiligen). "Sunny" is a relative term here at this time of the year 😉. Around Munich we had exactly zero sunshine minutes due to the fog. But I'm also pleasantly surprised that several movies have such a good hold e.g. Halloween Kills (OTOH I have the feeling that Halloween becomes more and more popular here with plenty of films and specials on TV, supermarket food, parties). The good hold of Dune could be also because part 2 is definitely happening.

charlie Jatinder
Marvel Cinematic Universe in Germany Phase I Iron Man - 817,996 The Incredible Hulk - 248,487 Iron Man 2 - 1,013,795 Thor - 1,119,430 Captain America: The First Avengers - 339,797 Avengers: Assemble - 2,261,073 Phase II Iron Man 3 - 1,922,616 Thor: The Dark World - 1,433,883 Captain America: The Winter Soldier - 824,140 Guardians of the Galaxy - 1,799,272 Avengers: Age of Ultron - 2,423,753 Ant-Man - 548,199 Phase III Captain America: Civil War - 1,724,372 Doctor Strange - 1,465,602 Guardians of the Galaxy Vol 2 - 2,516,481 Spider-man: Homecoming - 1,008,033 Thor: Ragnarok - 1,480,167 Black Panther - 1,798,330 Avengers: Infinity War - 3,457,546 Ant-Man and the Wasp - 822,769 Captain Marvel - 2,080,044 Avengers: Endgame - 5,132,540 Spider-man: Far From Home - 1,772,570 Phase IV Black Widow - 761,491 Shang Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings - 810,490 One of the weakest markets for the franchise, though improving. 1M admits in Germany is equivalent to 100x in gross US in general. Iron Man in 2008 was 390x. Avengers: Assemble reduced to 256x to eventually 167x for Endgame. GoTG is best franchise along with Thor but Thor: Ragnarok didn't do great. Captain America is weakest franchise with even Civil War doing average numbers.
IndustriousAngel
Concerning MCU ... I must say presales for Eternals are extremely low at my cinema. It's opening the day after tomorrow and there are around 20 (twenty) tickets sold, for all six shows together ... that's horrible!

titanic2187
All the worry about NTTD's sub-optimal performance gone completely. Should be able to pass 6m admission, not that far off from Spectre and easily the number 1 of the year in you place NTTD at yearly rank of 2016 and 2018 and number 2 for 2017 and 2019. As for Dune, should aim for 1.8m final admission, was hoping to top F9 but seem like it will only pass F9 in term of gross, thanks to IMAX % . 1
el sid
The presales for Eternals look also in my theater (mathäser) pretty muted so far. They're not terrible but far under those of NTTD and also under those of Dune. But not all is negative, e.g. the release date is not bad and Eternals get enough shows/day, not as many as Bond but around a dozen on Wednesday which is far above average. And the reviews are a bit better here (around 7/10 so far I would say). I often heard that partly interested people said they first want to see the audience reactions. So good WOM will be very important. IMO the first trailer generated much buzz but somehow later the hype decreased a bit (but could be only my impression). Many fans probably don't know what to expect and additionally it was mentioned in the reviews that several stars (especially A. Jolie and K. Harington) don't have much screentime. charlie Jatinder
I mean Eternals is not as big as those two in market. Its target in optimistic case be 1M full run may be.
