There will be a lot of MCU films that won't get to those numbers the upcoming years.

You don't get me,with 450m huge opening but only 940m overall, that's the 'disapointed' meaning,it should do at least 1100m with normal WOM Edited July 24, 2022 by Bruce 3
The Dark Alfred
I get you. Mega openings tend to follow big drops, though. Especially if a film opened at every market. Not every film can be a NWH. I usually judge the final number. For a Doctor Strange film it is impressive. Bit of a shame that it missed on 1 billion for sure after its start.

charlie Jatinder
Seems like $415-420M final internationally. DOM seems to be finalising at $335-340M approx. WW $750-760M. In same set of markets with similar ER and ATP, Ragnarok was $350M, so +20%. With release in Malaysia, Middle East and Russia & ER of 2019 we were looking at $500-510M without China. For billie needed only $155M in China, which could have been done quite easily, probably around $200-225M.

More like 125-150m based on current state of the Chinese market due to partial lockdowns Think reception would have been bad too, humour simply wouldn't have translated well like in majority of asian markets it has already released in Even NWH ,the most crowd pleasing movie in phase 4 has a low douban score. 970M - 1bn . Thought this would top out around 725m but OS legs have been good so 750-760m is fine ,could have been worse. Disney should just give thor one last hurrah and put thor to rest because after endgame they don't know what to do with him anymore. Seeing an OG avenger who should have mentor/guider relationship potential for upcoming heroes being turned into a joke is sort of frustrating. Word of mouth there would be Shazam level..
