CaptNathanBrittles
By the time BP dropped to $2.2m on Monday it had grossed 86.7% of its total. If BP2 follows this it will gross $427m.

HPDH1 - 17M (it was its 3rd weekend). It grossed 51M more from there Thor Ragnarok - 9.9M (it was its 5th weekend). It grossed 25M more from there Justice League - 16.6M (it was its 3rd weekend). It grossed 32M more from there THG2 - 26.2M (3rd weekend). It grossed 90M more from there I would say 3x post Thanksgiving weekend is likely at this moment. Around 460M DOM or even higher.

jedijake
Yeah BP2 is fading out a lot more aggressively than it was marketed in. Good movie but isn't sticking for long. Oh well, at least it will be pretty highly regarded in its legacy.

It's kinda strange given the audience score and the Cinemascore are both As.
narniadis
BPWF is headed for about 2.5x from an inflated holiday opening weekend. I fail to understand the continued sadness... unrealistic expectations don't make it a failure, particularly when its behaving normally week over week right now? But then again, BOT wouldn't be BOT if reality instead of hopes and dashed dreams actually reigned.

Can't wait for the doom and gloom here when A2 drops 45-50% from OW on second weekend... Only for a sub 10% drop on 3rd weekend.
Mojoguy
That seems fine for BF2, basically a spinoff that lost its lead in Boseman. The first BP was a phenomenon, and it's really rare for sequels to match massive originals. Avatar 2 better watch out. A fall is very likely.

Only for a sub 10% drop on 3rd weekend. That might seem expected, but as we all see now, the unexpected should be expected. 60% drop from OW for Av2 due to Christmas Even Friday. Then at least a 20% drop in the third weekend.
John Marston
Black Panther 1 made 1.2 billion without China and Russia so BP2 will be looking at a sizable drop with a bigger budget so let’s not pretend this is some gigantic success. Especially most predictions were for an easy billion
