Guessing Jessie again. You must have missed that the writers won.

Still overpaid. If writing was so fundementally important to success then books would sell more than movies and transformers 2 wouldnt be the biggest ticket seller of the franchise. As of late, writing has been the weak link in the entertainment industry

Writing is important enough to success that movies cannot exist without scripts, a lot of movies *coast* on scripts and some of the highest grossing films of all time are recognized for their writing. The book analogy makes zero sense - totally different mediums.

But what to expect from Jessie other than morony.

Highest grossing movie of all time was written by its director. Highest grossing movie of this year was written by its director. Even good directors are more valuable in the writing chair than those whos primary role is to write.

The most well written movies dont tend to be big box office hits, people pay for spectacle. Writers are just a small cog in a large industry, no more valuable than a set creator.

Won't even bother replying, since it's like talking to a wall, but other question: do you do anything with your life, other than create alt accounts on a forum to be a far-right troll? Like... is there anything to your life?

It does make me think that the AMPTP are hoping SAG drops the revenue sharing or at least comes up with a slightly more appealing proposal.

And they probably will have too. At some point they have to go back to work. It sucks but the Studios can and will wait them out.

Can they? Their 2024 slate is looking to get completely screwed over the longer this strike goes on.

Yeah that is true. But I could see them spreading the movies out so thin and leaving gaps in the schedule like early to mid 21 when theaters started opening again. It think it would be stupid but I put nothing past these guys. Making a deal with the writers should give us hope they will but the fact that SAG is saying the studios  just walked away again  from the table for no reason. Who knows what their ultimate strategy is.

Studios are starting to date smaller projects for release dates in the upcoming months. Focus just dated Diablo Cody's Lisa Frankenstein for the same February 9 date that Sony's It Ends With Us with Blake Lively is still set for even though it's one of the projects where filming on it has stalled because of the strikes (given that the marketing materials just released for it only say "Coming Soon" on them I would bet on Sony pushing Anyone But You to Valentine's Day and sending both It Ends With Us and Madame Web to later dates). The Bad News Friday drops are coming over the next couple of weeks - heck, we might get one today! It's only 10:45 in the morning LA time.
