If Elemental is shaping up to be Korea's Titanic then Barbie is shaping up to be Brazil's Endgame

it's already tracking above every single movie this year's OD at T-16 lmao

Uhh what about Mission Impossible in South Korea? Wouldn't that be an endgame level event?

MI7 in Korea will be big but I don't think it will be as big as Barbie in Brazil (relatively of course)

Oh whoops, thought you were still talking about South Korea with Barbie... I thought it was kind of weird that that movie would be big there.

Whatever, I don’t believe Elemental is being seen as top tier Pixar by the GA, simply “it’s good.” And I think that OW small as freakin 1995 Toy Story back when no one even knew what Pixar was is a huge factor in it having such a high multi. We have seen how crazy multis can get when OWs are low and audiences genuinely love it. Way crazier than 5x. Pretty over the argument tbh.

Add to that terrible buzz from Cannes.

Its the first theatrical legit with good WOM for Pixar like since the pandemic.

Turning red - Disney +

Luca - D+

Lighyear - mixed

Disney animation post pandemic has been on the downturn and this movie is an uptick in that fortune .

Not discounting it's legs but this feels like a course correction due to small weekend and WOM catching up and theatrical market  clearly being starved a well received  Pixar film.

Would you guys consider "No Hard Feelings" to be a moderate success? for a low-mid budget flick? R rated at that.

If so, You have to give props to Jennifer Lawrence because she probably deserves that $25 mil paycheck.

For sure! The genre was dead and if it's succesful is just because of JLaw.
